Pikelandrawr is a countryrawr located on a large island near Alaska. It is a first-world country despite its brutal cold tempuratures, due to influence from the United Kingdom and the US.
Its official languages are English and Russian, with Spanish and several native languages being recognized minority languages. Its largest city is Krakow (not THAT Krakow), and its capital is Westminster (not THAT Westminster, either).
History
Pikeland used to be part of Russia from 1799, when the Russian America Company was founded, until 1866, a year before the Alaska Purchase, when it was sold to Spain. Unlike in the Alaska Purchase, the Russian-speaking settlers stayed in Pikeland after its sale to Spain.
The Spanish didn't want this cold near-wasteland, so they sold it to the UK and the USA as a condominium in 1899. It wasn't involved in World War I, but during WWII, it was invaded by the Japanese. After WWII, it became an UN Trust Territory of the United States, which introduced television to Pikelanders.
In 1951, Pikeland was granted its independence from the US. Its first act as an independent country was to declare its neutrality in the Cold War. Ever since then, Pikeland has been neutral in almost all wars.
