The {{i|USA}United States weren’t always the United States after its independence. (And I’m not talking about Evil 
CSA) For a time after its independence, the 13 states were united under the United Confederation, where the USA made a constitution called the Articles of Confederation, which gave individual states more power than the central government, thus creating the United Confederation. The UC then fixed the central government with another constitution.
